The Village at Hendrix and the city of Conway will soon welcome Delta Trust & Bank — a financial institution high on community and customer service.
Michael Bynum, a 17-year veteran of the banking industry, serves as the Conway market president. Born and raised in Helena, Michael graduated in 1993 from Arkansas State University with a degree in business management.
In May 2011, Bynum joined Delta Trust & Bank to lead the company’s expansion to the Conway area. “It was an opportunity to move up,” he said. “I wanted a challenge. I wanted to start something from the ground floor.”
In August 2012, Delta Trust opened a loan production office in Conway that offers all traditional lending services, including personal, business and commercial loans.
“I love Conway,” Bynum said. “It is the best place I’ve ever lived and a great place to raise a family.”
Bynum is excited that soon the bank will have a full service location with about 10 employees in The Village at Hendrix.
Grand opening festivities are planned Saturday, April 26, at the 3,200-square-foot location that will include drive-thru as well as ATM services.
The bank will be housed in the new building at The Village that will also be home to the Purple Cow restaurant, which Bynum’s good friend and Delta Trust board member, Phillip Tappan, co-owns. According to Bynum, he and Tappan were hoping Delta Trust and Purple Cow would one day be neighbors.
Bynum says he finds helping customers very rewarding. “I’ve always been competitive,” he said. “I like to really help the customer and grow that relationship.”
He has a simple approach to his work. “Banking is relationships to me,” he said. “We don’t treat our customers as a number.”
Delta Trust & Bank Director of Marketing Malina Vibhakar points out that Delta Trust is very service oriented and community minded, adding that the bank is particular about where it decides to locate an office. “We’re not going to be on every corner because you lose that personal feel.”
She also points out that Delta Trust is particular when selecting employees, and the bank has a very low turnover rate, an indication of good employee satisfaction. “We’re a community-focused bank with big bank services.”
Delta Trust & Bank offers a variety of financial services to help meet the needs of customers, according to both associates. “It’s truly full service,” he said.
Bynum considers The Village the premier location in Conway for a bank and is excited about the new location. “We’re in a great location for growth.”
