Frank Broyles, one of the icons of Arkansas sports, recently preached a
sermon that too many people today seem not to understand at the fourth
induction banquet of the Arkansas Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall
of Fame.
“When you plan for the future, you never forget the past because the
past is the key to the future,” said Broyles, retired football coach and
athletic director at the University of Arkansas. “The greatest joy in
life is bringing the past to the present. We want to never forget the
past. Always, always honor the past.”
Faulkner County’s first 18-hole public golf course officially opened
July 15 with fanfare that included food and lots of friends.
More than 100 people celebrated Nutters Chapel Golf and Country Club as
it joined the city’s Lindsey Management golf course community of
Centennial Valley and The Links at Cadron Valley.
It’s a gorgeous layout that came together in the last weeks before the grand opening.

Golf Tournament Monday, Sept. 13, at Centennial Valley Country Club in
Conway. All proceeds from the tournament go to Community Connections of
Conway.
Greenbrier volleyball celebrates its 20th year this fall, and coach
Cindy Hartman knows the next step of progress for the program lies with
its players – past and present.
Hartman, 42, of Greenbrier recently put together a volleyball reunion
with the goal of forging connections and establishing a strong alumnae
base.
