Conway High School represented the 501 as one of 22 schools that competed in the Hendrix Invitational swim meet Saturday in Conway.

On the outside, Corey Noble appears to be the average man, but to the students, faculty and fans of Morrilton High School’s athletic teams, he’s much more.

In 1998, Noble was invited to come to basketball practice by former coach John Drake. Soon after, Corey became manager of the Devil Dogs junior and senior high basketball teams.

The 22nd Annual Arkansas Big Buck Classic will take place Friday through Sunday at the Arkansas State Fair Grounds in Little Rock.

Carter Greenland was 9 when he proudly marched into the office of the American Red Cross North Central Arkansas Service Center to deliver a donation on behalf of his family.

What made the donation even more special was that Carter himself had chosen the recipient.

Many in the 501 have experienced a unique event – the winter visit of the trumpeter swans on Magness Lake near Heber Springs.

Visitors from throughout the state as well as other parts of the country have traveled to Cleburne County to check out the swans on the lake, a 30-acre oxbow off the Little Red River.
