Each time Mayflower linebacker/receiver Turner Hudson hits the field, the senior remembers what it was like being on the other side of the fence on Friday nights. 

“When I was younger, I remember going to high school football games and wanting to be just like the players on the field,” Hudson said.

World War II veteran Bill Pate was honored on Friday during a special presentation.

Unity Health Foundation recently held an art reception, displaying the work of local photographer Lynn Reinbolt at the Unity Health — Specialty Care campus. 

In the spirit of generosity, Reinbolt chose to donate many of his own framed photographs to the Unity Health Foundation to be placed throughout the Unity Health System. 

The University of Central Arkansas is kicking off its new Women’s Leadership Network with a reception hosted by First Lady Jenny Davis.

The reception is 3 to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at UCA Downtown located at 1105 West Oak in downtown Conway. The event is free and open to seasoned and aspirant female leaders in the Conway and Faulkner County area. 

The family of R.V. Powell Sr. recently donated $20,000 to the State Hall Renovation Project at Arkansas State University-Beebe. 

The donation was made specifically to renovate the Financial Aid Suite, which will be named in honor of R.V. Powell Sr.
